DETERGENTS
Since 1995, the construction of the first sulfonation unit in North Africa has provided a secure and high-quality solution to the detergent industry as a substitute for oleum, which was challenging for detergent manufacturers to handle.
The production facility for the main active ingredient, LABSA (Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid), used in powdered detergents, is based on environmentally friendly technology and working conditions that adhere to European standards.
In addition to sulfonic acid, SCE Chemicals also produces SLES (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate), the primary active ingredient for the production of shampoos and liquid detergents.
These high-quality chemical products manufactured by SCE Chemicals contribute to the production of effective and environmentally friendly detergents, while meeting the requirements of the detergent industry.
SODIUM SILICATES
SCE Chemicals has been manufacturing sodium silicates since 1952, primarily for use in the detergent industry. In 1989, their engineers conducted studies that led to the development of a hydrothermal process integrating the reaction between silicon dioxide and caustic soda.
Caustic Soda
Previously imported for several decades, Caustic Soda is now manufactured within the Chlor-Alkali plant established by SCE Chemicals and commissioned in July 2022.
The integration of this strategic raw material for the detergent sector also strengthens Morocco’s position in the production of Caustic Soda, which is used in various industrial sectors.
Sodium Hypochlorite
Integrated into the Chlor-Alkali plant, the production of Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach) commenced in July 2022. Building on the Moroccan experience with this essential hygiene product, SCE established its subsidiary SCE Abidjan in 2021 to replicate the production in Côte d’Ivoire. Sodium Hypochlorite serves as an effective, accessible, and cost-effective tool for combating bacteria, viruses, fungi, and water disinfection for the populations in this region of Africa.
