Sodium silicate

Sodium silicate is an alkaline solution with a well-defined molar ratio between silica and sodium oxide.
The main applications of sodium silicates are in detergents, paper, building materials and water treatment.

  • Detergent: A widely used solution  in the production of detergent powders, pastes and soaps.
  • Adhesive: used in the production of cardboards but also as an adhesive layer by centrifugation to bind glass to glass.
  • Drilling fluids: used to stabilise the walls of the borehole to prevent collapse.
  • Water treatment: it is used as a coagulant and iron flocculant in water treatment plants.
  • Fireproofing: water glass is a useful binder for solids, such as perlite.
  • Sand moulding: It is used as a sand binder in the sand moulding of iron or steel. It allows the rapid production of a solid mould.
  • Dye additive: used as a fixative for hand dyeing with reactive dyes that require a high pH to react with the textile fibre.
  • Chemical formula : (SiO2)x(Na2O)y.nH2O where the molar ratio x/y is between 1.6 and 3
  • Origin: Morocco
  • Concentration : 45-50 %
  • CAS number : 1344-09-8

Sulfonic Acid

Linear Alkyl benzene Sulfonic Acid 96% (LABSA) is a 96% surfactant that has excellent properties for detergents formulation, especially powders.

LABSA is compatible with other anionic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants and is soluble in water and alcohol.

Used as a main surfactant in domestic and commercial applications of:

    • Dishwashing detergent (machine and hand)
    • Laundry
    • Car wash
    • Other applications: hard surface maintenance, heavy duty cleaning, industrial cleaning, light cleaning, emulsion concentrates, emulsifiable concentrates, fumigant, latex foaming agent, latex manufacture, micro-emulsions, oil dispersants, suspension concentrates, suspension emulsions.
  • Chemical formula: C18H29NaO3S
  • Origin: Morocco
  • Concentration: 96 % min.
  • CAS number: 27176-87-0

Aluminium Sulfate

Aluminium sulphate, whose chemical formula is Al2(SO4)3, is a coagulant agent for water treatment. A water-soluble substance, it acts as a flocculating and clarifying agent to remove organic and suspended solids.

Aluminium Sulphate powder 17% has several industrial applications:

  • Water treatment units use aluminium hydroxide as a flocculating agent. It absorbs particles suspended in water.
  • It is used to size paper.
  • Fabric manufacturers use its biting properties to fix the dye to the material.
  •  The food industry uses it as a firming agent (E520) and as a bactericide.
  • It is a deodorant agent for cosmetics and a vaccine adjuvant for medicine.
  • Other uses for powdered alumina sulphate are as a scouring agent, as an active agent for baking powder, as a retardant for powder extinguishers and as an astringent in medicine.
  • Gross formula: Al2(SO4)3,18H2O
  • Origin: Morocco
  • Concentration: 17 % min.
  • CAS number: 7784-31-8
  •

CAUSTIC SODA

Sodium hydroxide is a key product for various industries: food processing, detergents, mining, textiles, paper pulp, etc.
Our liquid caustic soda produced by our Jorf Lasfar plant is of a 30% or 50% concentration.
Our membrane production process enables us to meet the requirements of the Moroccan food standard NM EN896 Classification number 03.2.210, the Food Chemical Codex and the European directive 2008/84/EC.

Caustic soda is used in several sectors. One of its main uses is the neutralisation of acidic substances, which explains its common use in the manufacture of chemical products.
This chemical is also used in the pulp and paper industry and in the petroleum industry.
In addition, the refining of vegetable oils also uses this product to remove free fatty acids that can give the oil an unpleasant taste.
Finally, sodium hydroxide is an effective and reliable solution to several problems faced in virtually all industries involved in the processing of materials.
The main industries concerned are water treatment, agri-food, pulp and paper, contaminated soil treatment, chemical manufacturers and agricultural products.

  • Chemical formula: NaOH
  • Origin: Morocco
  • Concentration: 30% and 50%.
  • CAS number: 1310-73-2
